NRYHA has adopted the following coaching application process. Please read and follow the process below. Thank you

• All coaching applicants are required to submit an Application.
• All coaching applicants will be evaluated by the PCDC.
• For NRYHA coaching applicants, 2 or more current PCDC members will interview coach applicants. 
• All PCDC approved candidates are submitted to NRYHA Board of Representatives for final approval.

** COACHES INTERESTED IN COACHING FOR THE 2023-24 SEASON, PLEASE NOTE PCDC WILL START REACHING OUT TO YOU IN JULY/AUGUST...STAY TUNED **

• All Applications will be reviewed, recommended by the PCDC and approved by the NRYHA board.
• Factors used in the evaluation will include, but not be limited to:
  • Overall coaching experience
  • Years as a head coach
  • Background – playing experience, levels coached/played, etc.

• The designated coaching coordinator to extend any coaching offers will contact all approved head coaching and assistants.
• All board approved coaching selections are pending until all requirements are met. All requirements are due prior to all season activities. All returning coaches who do not complete all required prior to the start season (post tryouts) will not be able to participate in any team activities until completed and verified by ACE coordinator. (Please note that the coaching seminar is the only exception)

  • USA Hockey Registration*
  • USA Coaching Education Program* (CEP) program completion
  • USA Hockey Age Appropriate Module (Due 11/15 for new coaches, Valid for life)
  • Safe Sport Training (Valid 2 years)
  • Concussion Information

*Please note that NRYHA will reimburse all certification and coaching requirement fees for only approved coaches.
