New Tiger Uniforms
As you all know, we need new uniforms!
As you all know, we need new uniforms! The cost has come down exponentially since we last invested in jerseys over 10 years ago. The association understands any increase in fees may be a concern to our members, so a jersey committee was formed that researched many options to address our needs now and in the future. The research also included an evaluation of vendors, costs comparisons with other associations, and design options.
During our research, we found that many associations require players to purchase their own jerseys annually. These associations have experienced many benefits from this method. Some benefits include members always have newer jerseys, their members prefer to keep their jerseys, and the fees are minimal. We will be adopting a similar uniform process that we feel is right for NRYHA.
Each player will purchase jerseys every two years starting in 2018. This year, the cost will be $133 ($56 jerseys, $21 socks) per player. The fee will include one home, one away jersey, and one pair of socks. Please note that the uniform fee will need to be paid in full at time of fitting and ordering night. Jersey fees cannot be included part of any payment plan.
To help reduce the impact of uniform fees, a $56 jersey fee* will be added to the player registration fees each year after this year**. This will be applied towards replacement jerseys*** every two years (1 home jersey, 1 away jersey).
* Please note Mite In-house players will be not be charged the uniform fee.
** All first year Squirt/U10 or new players to the association will pay the initial jersey fee and the uniform fee will be added to their registration fee after they complete their first year.
*** Hockey socks will not be provided after the initial year. Each player will be required to purchase association approved socks.
Strauss Hockey
The Board of Directors selected Strauss Hockey as the preferred vendor for providing our uniforms. Strauss will be conducting two fitting sessions for all players. Please plan on attending one of the fitting sessions to be fitted properly for your player’s uniform. Session dates and times will be communicated in the coming weeks. Jerseys and socks will be ready at the start of the upcoming season.
Tiger Apparel – Strauss has been selected to supply NRYHA Tiger apparel for the upcoming season. Samples will be available during the fitting sessions for viewing. An online store will be set up for ordering.
Fitting Sessions
We will be conducting two jersey-fitting sessions for all Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam age players. It will be required each player attend one of the following sessions to ensure deliver of uniform by the beginning of the season. All players should bring shoulder pads for proper sizing.
Sizing Sessions
Session 1 – Sunday, July 29 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the rink
Session 2 – Wednesday, August 1 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the rink
Uniform Payment – Jersey and sock payment of $133 will be collected during these sessions.
Jersey Numbers – Jersey numbers will be assigned based on birth year.
- Odd birth years (2003, 2005, 2007, etc.) will select odd numbers
- Even birth years (2002, 2004, 2006, etc.) will select even numbers.
- Each player should bring 3 number choices to the fitting session.
- The association will evaluate and appoint a jersey number based on availability and player choice. This is a first come first serve basis.
Own a Piece of Tiger History – Existing jerseys will be available for sale over during the fitting sessions.

- All proceeds will be donated to the Blue Line club and to the new jersey fund to help reduce costs.
