About NRYHA

New Richmond Youth Hockey Association

Welcome to the New Richmond Youth Hockey Association Web site.  Our youth hockey association provides boys and girls in the New Richmond, Wisconsin area the opportunity to participate in the great sport of ice hockey.

Our Association

The New Richmond Youth Hockey Association (NRYHA) is a Wisconsin Youth Hockey Association located in west-central Wisconsin. NRYHA is in turn affiliated with one of six regional councils within the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA). WAHA is an affiliate of the National Organization, USA Hockey. Each of these bodies has rules governing the sport of youth hockey. Additionally, NRYHA participates as a guest member within District 2 of Minnesota Hockey (also an affiliate of USA Hockey).

A board of Directors and a number of different committees carry out the Association's activities. All activities are governed by the Association's by-laws. Members of the Board of Directors are elected by the membership, and the board appoints committee members. The board generally meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Parents and members are encouraged to attend any of the board meetings, but should verify the date and location.

Volunteers

NRYHA is operated entirely by volunteers.  As a parent you will be called upon to participate in the operation of the Association. Committee work included fundraising, coach’s recruitment and development, promotions, publicity, tournaments and communications.  Parents are also needed to serve as team managers, coaches, jersey and equipment managers and board members.  Please consider where you can contribute to the betterment of our association.  Your involvement will offer opportunities to meet other parents in the Association, and you will experience the satisfaction of providing the highest quality youth hockey program for all of our skaters.

Work Hours Information

At registration NRYHA requests parents complete a work hour agreement contract.  This contract outlines the amount of volunteer work hours you your family is asked to contribute to NRYHA.  The number of work hours is based on the level of play of the oldest child in the family who is registered to play hockey.

For complete details and frequently asked questions regarding NRYHA's work hour requirements click on the 'Work Hours' tab under Volunteer Info.

Keeping the association running requires many more hours than the minimum required work hours.  NRYHA encourages (and needs) members to assist whenever possible!
